The signature loaf is made of 4 ingredients: sourdough, stoneground wheat flour, water and sea salt from Guérande. It is a round loaf with a thick, golden crust as it is cooked in a wood-burning oven. It carries the signature mark P for Poilâne.
Each loaf weighs about 4lbs or 1.9kg (weight may vary as each loaf is handcrafted). Well suited with meats, soft cheeses as well as foie gras or salmon.The size of the slices makes it a good bread for sandwiches.

Lionel Poilâne intended this bread box to suit small or open-plan kitchens and designed it to store, cut and display anything up to a half loaf.
It is made out of only the best materials – wood, glass and linen. The box is covered by a piece of embroidered linen which can be removed and washed and whose natural properties help the bread to keep for longer. The slot in the box’s glass walls helps guide the blade of the knife (which comes with the bread bin) to ensure that each slice is of a regular width. L 46.5cm X D 16cm X 20cm

Poilâne decorated sourdough loaves (about 4.8lbs or 2.3lg) bear a handmade dough decoration. The decoration changes every month. The delivery date determines the decoration. The bread may be eaten (remove the decoration first) or kept as a souvenir (keep in a dry place).
If you wish, you can customize your loaf with an inscription. To do so, order the decorated bread with inscription.

The ‘Punitions’ are small butter cookies made with wheat flour, butter, sugar and eggs. They’re perfect to nibble on with a cup of tea or coffee or to accompany a dessert.
Where does their name come from? ‘Punition’ is French for ‘punishment’ and the name comes from a little game Pierre Poilâne’s grandmother used to play. Bowl in salt glazed stoneware signed Kinga & Anatoly Stolnikoff for Poilâne A specifically European technique, mastered more than four centuries ago but rarely seen nowadays, salt glazed stoneware is fired at 1200 °C (2192 °F). Salt is poured into the kiln through a small hole in the top. Vaporized into a cloud by the extreme heat, the salt is deposited on the ceramic pieces in more or less regular fashion. Dishwasher-, microwave- and oven-proof. Please don’t, however, expose it to direct flame.
